Story Workshop Educational Trust (SWET) is implementing a 4 month Health and Nutrition Emergency Response Campaign with funding from UNICEF.

The campaign started on 30 March 2016 and will end in June 2016
The goal of the campaign is to contributeto UNICEF’s mass screening campaign through mobilization of communities in 8 districts so that they are able to refer the children to the on-going screening exercises.

Specifically the social mobilization campaign will aim at:
Building capacity of community based theatre groups in TFD to enable them to effectively conduct perfomances in communities on issues of malnutrition.
Promoting simple and user friendly monitoring tools at community level
Enhance community referrals in linking malnourished under five children with health.

SWET is working in 8 of 25 selected districts including Blantyre Rural, Mwaza, Lilongwe Rural, Salima, Kasungu, Dowa, Mzimba (North and South) and Rumphi. Primarily SWET is working with 3 community based theatre groups in each district totaling to 24 theatre groups that have already been oriented on nutrition and are currently in strong partnership with the Health Promotion department under MoH.
Story workshop will ensure that right messages and behaviours are being promoted in all the target areas.

The activities of the project include mobilization through Theatre for Development, community dialogues, production of video documentary and monthly monitoring and evaluation.
